Yo! Congratulations on writing the movie! When i first read the post, I stupidly thought you meant that you had just finished the script, not realizing the movie ITSELF was done (I'm assuming, based on there being a trailer and all). I was trying to see if you had any other credits floating around on IMDb and I saw SURVIVAL (currently in post production) with a billion executive producers attached. Is that you, too? I was one of two PAs on a DV film called PRISON OF THE PSYCHOTIC DAMNED that was shot in Buffalo, NY last November. That was the fledgling film project of Red Scream Films, and they currently have another couple projects in the works, one called THE ELDRITCH (in post-production), and one called FRIGHT WORLD currently shooting in town. In fact, now that I'm back in town from vacation, I'm going to help out on FRIGHT WORLD as it completes its pricipal photography this week. Yeah, all of a sudden, sort of, Buffalo has been a busy place to be if you want to make a low-budget film, whether ultra low-budget and DV, like the aforementioned three films. Although Troma's POULTRYGEIST was shot here. And the non-horror film MANNA FROM HEAVEN by the Burton sisters was shot here, too, a few years ago(on film, with a fairly large name cast-- ie. Shirley Jones, Cloris Leachman, Seymour Cassel, etc.). But, mostly, I think some locally made, low-budget flicks are cropping up, which makes sense as a natural progression, creatively speaking, since Buffalo has had a thriving small professional theater community for several years, astoundingly, and with DV cameras dropping in price significantly, it makes sense that creative people in the area would explore film/video possibilities. Still, it's kind of a curious development. Anyways, I'm babbling. Just wanted to say congratulations and good luck!
Oh, meanwhile, on a self-serving, unrelated note/detour (unless you really stretch the definition of related), here's a link to my blog entry re: the premiere screening of the PRISON OF THE PSYCHOTIC DAMNED. Yeah, actually, I have my so-called "movie-related blog" at livejournal. I started THIS "blogger" blog so I could respond to YOUR blog. (Yeah, and now that I have this blog, I'm debating if I should do something with it, or just forget about it, because I'm doing a lame job of maintaining my other two blogs-- oh, yeah, I have one on Myspace, too, that's ostensibly about "comics.")(sheesh)
Also, there's probably an easier way for me to do all this, I'm sure, but it's my wife who's actually computerly adept and I'm, well, I know just enough to cause trouble... Anyways, if you find it in your heart to take a perusal of my INCREDIBLY LONGWINDED blog entry, that'd be terrific!
How funny! I've heard of House of the Psychotic Damned. A girl named Suzy is in it and she posts over at Pretty-Scary.net! Nice girl. It looks fun.
I didn't realize that I had a producer credit online yet! That was funnyt too. Yup, that's me, I gave 'em money and I got my credit! I also have another credit for a film called Felons, well it has a few names. It starred Karen Black and working on it was one of the worst experiences of my life! That story is for another day, my friend!
